Brandon Mead is a partner in the litigation department, specializing in the Health Care Industry Group. Within the Group, Brandon has extensive experience representing health care insurers and governmental entities in complex litigation matters. He regularly litigates business matters involving breach of contract, bad faith, fraud, business torts and health plan provider disputes. Brandon has also recently prepared and provided trial support successfully defending a multi-million dollar claim against one such provider.  

Prior to joining Prospera Law LLP, Brandon worked at William Morris Endeavor, handling client contract negotiations and intellectual property concerns. He also worked at Angels Baseball in their legal department, handling various employment issues, contract negotiations and ensuring compliance with state and local ordinances.  

Significant Engagements & Transactions 

• Represents major California health plans in arbitrated and litigated matters involving hospital and other provider claims for payment. Disputes generally involve issues related to coverage, coordination of benefits, other payers, disallowed charges, fee schedule, medical necessity, claims timeliness, experimental/investigational, pre-existing condition, EOC exclusions, contract interpretation, misrepresentation, and rescission.
